We sell used stuff for people on sites like eBay and Craigslist.
Our Sella Hub operators take care of all the hands-on stuff, like photos, storage, meetups & shipping.
See if this is the right gig for you, and how much you can earn.
Storage space for your Sella Hub can be almost anywhere in your home — a spare closet, a shelving unit in a garage or basement, or even storage bins under the bed — as long as you can easily access the items, and as long as you can ensure they will remain clean, odor-free and dry. In other words: no pet hair, moisture, mold or smoke.
Keep in mind, items don't have to be stored all together, so just do your best to estimate how much total storage space you have across your home.
One important note: we don’t sell big or heavy items like furniture or bikes, but you should be comfortable carrying around items up to ~40 pounds, like a microwave.
OkaySmall tasks include things like photographing items with your phone, inspecting them for cosmetic damage such as dings or scratches, and on occasion, washing items if they don’t arrive in sparkly clean condition.
After receiving an item, you’ll have 48 hours to complete these tasks, but when and how is up to you. You can work in your PJs while listening to a podcast at 2am if you’d like — we let you be you — just as long as everything is completed prior to the deadline and your work is high quality.
Please note that a recent smartphone (last 2-3 years) is required so you can take quality photos and access our app, which will give you the simple, step-by-step instructions you’ll need to complete each task.
OkayTo run a Sella Hub, local buyers and sellers will need to be able to swing by your house to pickup and drop off items, at times that work for you.
You DO NOT need to be available 24/7 for meetups. Sella Hubs aren't stores, and there's no drop-ins or browsing. However, you do need to be available to meetup with buyers within a day or so after items sell. If you're generally home in the evenings and a few hours on weekends, we can work around your existing schedule, making meetups as easy and convenient for you as possible.
Once you work out a meetup time with a Sella dispatcher, you simply need to be home at the agreed-upon time, have the item ready (if you’re meeting with a buyer), and look presentable. Once the seller or buyer arrives, the meetup should be relatively brief — and then you’ll log the interaction in our app and get back to regular life.
OkayPickups require you to drive to a seller’s home, ask them a few yes/no questions, load up items that make sense to sell, and then take them back to your place or another Sella Hub. Deliveries are even simpler - you just drop off an item at the buyer’s porch or side door and snap a quick photo to confirm it arrived safe and sound.
When a pickup or delivery opportunity is available, a Sella dispatcher will contact you with all the details and you’ll have the option to accept or decline the work.
As with meetups, you should be comfortable lifting and transporting items up to ~40 pounds that fit in the trunk of a car. Additionally, just like with storing items, your car must have a space to put items where they will remain dry, clean and odor-free.
OkayWhen an item sells on a site like eBay, you'll need to pack it safely, print and affix a prepaid shipping label, and get it to the right carrier within 3 days (UPS, FedEx or USPS).
You'll be paid based on the size of the item and whether it's fragile and needs extra care. If you want to make a little extra, you can readily find free boxes and packing supplies. Or, you can just buy them as needed from a PostalAnnex or UPS Store.

for this role and could make
To earn this amount, a typical week would include:
Why these numbers
These numbers are based on the maximum capacity we think you can manage based on your responses. To run a small Sella Hub, you only need a small amount of storage space and a little bit of free time and availability. To run a larger Sella Hub and earn more money, you’ll need a large amount of all the things: storage space, time for small tasks and availability to meet with sellers and buyers.
Why not?
To run a Sella Hub, you need to have at least a small amount of available storage space, you must be willing to complete at least a few hours of small tasks per week, and you need to be available to meet up with buyers and/or ship items when items sell. And, at the moment, we're only hiring people who have a car and can do occasional pickups & deliveries.
Unfortunately, If any of your above responses do not meet these criteria, then you’re not a great fit for the role at this time.
However, you may be a good fit for another role at Sella! We invite you to check out other jobs we are hiring for at app.hellosella.com/work-with-us
